PoolFix Pros service is a licensed Leak detection expert. We’ve been repairing Leaks in commercial and residential pools for many years. We have all the. Equipment and the most qualified Leak Detection technicians. We will find your Pool Leak and let you know what it takes to repair it every time.
Using sophisticated technology, we can listen for the sounds of water flowing from a pipe underground. We also use a hydrophone to pinpoint leaks within the pool, usually near fittings or cracks. This allows us to target the exact location, regardless of where it may be happening.
When we first perform Leak Detection, we checked the main drain right away to see if it’s leaking. If it’s just leaking around the main drain and the wall of the pool, we could patch that up with either epoxy putty or what’s called a Hydro seal. Then we go a little higher, and we take out the light Behind the light, the cord goes through the wall Pool is notorious for leaking there. If it’s leaking behind, the light will patch that up with epoxy putty. Then we go a little bit higher all the holes on the side of the wall. Those are called returns. We check to see if the pool is leaking at any of those returns if they’re leaking between the pipe and the wall will patch that up using either epoxy putty or we cut it out with a grinder and use hydraulic cement. After that we go a little bit higher and check the skimmer. We make sure the skimmer box is not cracked or broken. If we find it the skimmer is leaking a small leak in the throat and if the skimmer throat can be patched. We will patch it using epoxy putty or hydraulic cement. We may determine that the skimmer needs to be replaced.
When we perform leak detection and identify a suspected leak, we add dye to the water to confirm the location and extent of the leak. A tiny video scope lets us watch the dye follow water into the leak. We get in the water with SCUBA gear to get close to the leak and assess the damage. Once we find the leak, we determined the best course for repair. If you have a broken skimmer or a skimmer that needs to be replaced we cut out the pool deck cut out the rebar surrounding the skimmer dig out the dirt surrounding the skimmer Remove all the plumbing connected to the skimmer by cutting it out then we plum in the new skimmer making sure everything is lined up in its square will backfill the hole with dirt over the top of the pipes, then hydraulic cement, holding the skimmer in place finish concrete for the top, or replace Pavers mite whatever’s covering the pool deck. If there’s a broken return pipe in the pool deck. We will have found this with a hydrophone, we will know the exact location of the break in the pipe then we will cut out the pool deck. Remove the dirt around the pipes cut out the pipes replumb with brand new pipe backfill the hole again finish concrete on the top, replace with pavers or travertine.
